Job Description
Position Summary
Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities with moderate complexity while ensuring equipment reliability and compliance. This role builds upon foundational technical skills and requires independent execution of maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and active participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum schematics.
- Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and basic-to-intermediate troubleshooting independently.
- Analyze equipment performance and assess impact on product and operations.
- Identify critical components and determine when escalation is required.
- Locate parts, drawings, and technical information using manuals, SAP, and other systems.
- Manage and prioritize work orders in SAP, ensuring no overdue PMs or CMs.
- Follow established work instructions and operational procedures.
- Maintain work areas in a clean, organized, and 5S-compliant condition.
- Apply systematic problem-solving techniques individually and as part of a team.
- Redline preventive maintenance procedures and support development of work instructions and troubleshooting guides.
- Respond to maintenance calls promptly, assess issues, and determine appropriate resolution or escalation.
- Ensure all emergency work orders are properly documented and completed.
- Report all safety incidents within required timelines.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Maintain required certifications (e.g., gowning, media qualification) for assigned areas.
- Participate in ongoing training to build technical capability.
Performance Metrics
- Capture 350 hours of time in SAP
- Maintain >90% training compliance.
- Achieve zero safety incidents due to failure to follow procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent technical experience preferred.
- 2–4 years of maintenance or manufacturing experience.
- Working understanding of mechanical, electrical, or process systems.
- Intermediate troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP preferred).
