The Role
The Sales Representative drives sales growth and vaccine orders within their territory through strategic area management. By building strong relationships with general practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists, they actively identify opportunities, close sales, and exceed targets. Collaboration with internal teams ensures smooth processes, while market analysis helps uncover new business opportunities. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential to achieving sales success.
Accountabilities:
- Sales Success
- Drive and exceed sales targets, particularly for vaccine orders, by strategically managing the assigned territory and identifying high-potential areas for growth
- Actively prospect, convert, and close new business opportunities, focusing on building and maintaining strong relationships with general practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists
- Tailor sales strategies to stakeholder needs, ensuring effective solutions that lead to successful closures and repeat business per season
- Leverage market insights, stakeholder feedback, and competitor analysis to refine sales strategies and target key opportunities within the territory
- Take ownership of sales performance within the territory, consistently driving growth, optimizing market share, and ensuring a high conversion rate from lead to closed sale
- Represent the company at national congresses, exhibitions and industry events
- Multi-Channel (MCM) and Event Management
- Utilize digital tools, including the iPad, to enhance customer interactions
- Generate and manage customer consent for digital engagement
- Extend customer relationships through approved emails and follow-up communication
- Use CRM functionalities and leverage insights to tailor interactions for engagement strategies
- Continuously develop multi-channel capabilities
- Actively support the planning and execution of local events, trainings and sponsorships
- Internal Collaboration and Compliance
- Work closely with Marketing, Medical, and Sales Operations to align on customer engagement
- Share market insights and feedback from the field to improve cross-functional collaboration
- Ensure seamless coordination with internal teams to support customer
- Adhere to all industry regulations and company policies, ensuring compliance in all interactions
- Knowledge, Skill & Competencies
- Completed degree in a scientific, pharmaceutical medical field, or recognized certification according to AMG §75 (Certified Pharmaceutical Representative)
- Relevant experience in field sales, particularly with general practitioners, nurses, and pharmacies
- Knowledge in vaccines is a strong plus and experience in direct sales preferred
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships
- Digital savviness and a data-driven approach to customer engagement
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and experienced with CRM systems (e.g., Ysura, Salesforce)
- Fluent communication skills in German, and preferably English
- Willingness to travel within the assigned region, including overnight stays
- Attending events and congresses
Requirements
- Completed vocational training with authorization to work as a pharmaceutical sales representative (e.g., PTA, MTA/MLA, BTA) or a completed university degree in a natural sciences or medical/pharmaceutical field
- At least 3 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical field sales, key account management, or the sales of prescription (Rx) products requiring explanation
- Experience in the marketing of pharmaceutical or biotechnology products, as well as a very good understanding of the German pharmaceutical market and the relevant regulatory framework
- Strong communication and presentation skills, along with a confident presence in scientific dialogue
- Structured, self-reliant, and goal-oriented working style
Reporting line:
This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager.
