Job Description
CSL Behring is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Engineer to join our Technical Operations in Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) department. Based in Broadmeadows site, this role operates as a global technical authority, providing science‑led leadership across the product and process lifecycle and driving enterprise improvements across our manufacturing network.
As a Senior Principal Engineer, you will steward critical process technologies, influence global standards and governance, and lead complex, multi‑site initiatives that strengthen capability, ensure compliance, and support reliable supply of therapies to patients worldwide. You will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Technical Operations (Process Technology, Validation & Project delivery) and other respective Global Functions and mentor senior technical talent across the network.

Key Responsibilities
Act as an enterprise‑level SME for defined process technologies, unit operations, and/or platform families, providing authoritative technical guidance across the CSL network.
Provide technical leadership within global MS&T governance, including design reviews, strategic initiatives, and development of technology roadmaps.
Own end‑to‑end lifecycle stewardship for assigned processes and technologies, including technology transfer, scale‑up/scale‑down, modernization, and multi‑site performance oversight.
Lead resolution of complex, high‑impact, multi‑site technical challenges, including investigations, deviations, and CAPA strategies using science‑ and data‑led approaches.
Lead and contribute to global improvement and investment initiatives (OPEX, CAPEX, S&I), driving harmonisation, standardisation, compliance, and capability development across the network.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Life Sciences, or related discipline (Advanced degree strongly preferred)
7+ years’ experience in biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical manufacturing, MS&T, or process engineering
Experience leading cross‑site or global initiatives in regulated (GxP) environments
Strong understanding of process lifecycle management, risk‑based approaches, and data‑driven improvement
Proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions and geographies
